i was talking to my mom earlier on the phone and i was surprised when she said "your wedding anniversary is coming soon eh?"... ofcourse i know its coming! i've been thinking about it as a matter of fact lately, but just not out loud.. i dont talk about it with my husband coz i wanna know if he's going to remember, LOL! isnt that the challenge all the time?! i wanna know what he's going to come up with... i, for one, dont know what im going to give him... for goodness sake, we're going to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary but we've been together for 6 years now... i probably have given him everything that i could, what more could he ask for??? LOL! gift ideas get harder every year, atleast for guys i think.. *sigh* i dont know what im gonna give him... i barely have a month to think about it... *tsk!*

ive been giving my job some serious thoughts lately... i have yet 6 more months of my Maternity Leave to utilize but the thoughts of going back to work have been haunting me every now and then these days!
Im beginning to wonder if i could ever go back to bedside nursing again... I think im having a change of heart - i wanna do something different the next time i go back to work.. something not bedside, something not back-breaking and something less stressful... i can probably do some day-surgery kinda thing.. or even CCAC.. although most of these offer 8 hours-shift during weekdays and i can probably have most of the weekends off - i still prefer to do 12-hour shifts so i can have my 3-5 days off every week... and that way too, i can do some part time jobs.. *sigh* this is tough... and i think its actually a good thing that i am thinking about these things now rather than later when im closer to going back to work.. i wanna be certain with what i want to do... in fairness, the ward/unit where i am presently employed is very ideal.. a lot of the nurses in our hospital would love to work in our unit - i mean who wouldnt?? for someone looking for a great working experience alone, nothing beats my unit.. it's multi-unit and you'll learn a lot of things! for someone who is dreaming of working in an emergency department or intensive care unit - our unit is definitely an ideal jumping board! i was once offered a CCU job at Sunnybrook Hospital becoz of my working experience.. I would've loved to grab that opportunity, however, that was the time when i found out that i was pregnant with baby Luke.. Hence, i had to decline it.. it's going to be a big loss if i let go of my present job - but i think i need to move on... and besides, i think i've had enough adrenaline rush from all those emergencies and code blues... i need to settle down a bit and do something less stressful.. so what is it going to be?? i dont know... it's hard... really hard, especially now that i have to consider baby Luke as well in my job decisions.. need to make sure that my job and Mon's job are co-ordinated well enough so that we can take care of Baby Luke.. *tsk!* tough..... good thing i still have plenty of time to think about it! :: Tuesday, February 26, 2008 :: food talk    Luke has turned 4 months old yesterday! *cheers!* we try to celebrate it every 25th of the month, since he was born on Oct.25 - my mom said we should, so we are! it's not a very big, fancy celebration that we do.. i just sorta cook something nice or we eat outside in a restaurant that we like.. last month, the celebration co-incided with my mom's birthday, so we had a double celebration at this Chinese Buffet Restaurant at Vaughan Mills. However, yesterday, i decided that i'd just cook something at home.. For lunch, i cooked Mon's fave sinigang na hipon (which is my fave too!).. For dinner we had sirloin steak, which i cooked in some butter, wine, etc.. and then baked in the oven.. so we had that with corn and some rice.. *yum!* it wasnt bad, i actually enjoyed the recipe that i invented.. im sure Mon enjoyed it too coz his plate was clean enough for me to not wash it! LOL! unfortunately, baby Luke had to settle with his milk all through out while mommy and daddy were celebrating his special day, LOL! well, as soon as he's able to eat solid foods he'll surely have some of these good stuff! hmmm.... all these food talk is making me hungry! i wish there was still some left over of the sopas that i made for Mon's friends last Sunday.. hmm... i still have some leche flan in the fridge which i made a few days ago... but im not feeling anything sweet right now since i just had some chocolate kisses... maybe ill have some macaroni salad instead which i made a few days ago as well... i like keeping a variety of food stock in the fridge... so that way in times like this, i can just go and grab something that i like to eat.. i should hit the kitchen before baby Luke wakes up for his milk... :: Thursday, February 21, 2008 :: fLu again!
and for the 2nd time around - i got the flu again! damn it! i must have gotten this over the weekend when we went to Niagara Falls.. i used to somewhat like having it so i could get an excuse to call in sick from work.. but im hating it now especially since baby Luke is around... im so paranoid that he might catch it as well, again.. im taking super extra precautions - even if i look like a lunatic walking around wearing N95 mask at home! i mean, i have no choice, i cant fully rely on Mon to take care of baby Luke since he's working every day.. One way or another, Im still gonna end up looking after him most of the time.. So, i dont care if i have to look like a lunatic - prevention is still better than cure! I've started taking medications the moment I felt that I was coming down with something - but this darn flu still happened! It's been 2 days, and so far everything is looking good - no signs of baby Luke catching any tiny bit of my flu..
+ + + Although I miss his hair, Im really loving baby Luke's new hair cut.. It suits his personality, i think.. he's so playful and cheerful, and sooo talkative! what i mean that he's talkative is he's blabbing a lot of gooh and gaahs - and it's hillarious just watching him do that! my mom even told me that i shouldnt buy him any more toys, i should buy him someone to talk to instead! It's funny coz he seems like he's trying to make a conversation whenever you talk to him, even if he probably doesnt understand any word you're saying! hahaha! he's amazing! i cant wait till he can actually make sensible conversations! here's a video of him that we took a few days just after he had his hair cut.. he's so cheerful and funny in this video! + + + *yaAawnsSs* Im sleepy.... i think i should hit the bed now since baby Luke is already sleeping... gud nyt! :: Saturday, February 09, 2008 :: marriage

*tsk!* things are just not the same as before... infact things change dramatically once you're married... the "spark" has disappeared so fast.. i tried (i honestly did) to save it but i dont think it's working... i think i've given it my all.. it takes two to tango but im the only one dancing.. how frustrating! |
